Fresh Food Market Photography

Fresh Food Market Photography

I am not the biggest fan of food photography, perhaps because of all the culinary books I've seen and they tend to always look the same with some macros and depth of field. That said, there are some cases that the quality of the composition, colors and treatment really deserve some attention. That's the case of the project shared by Ayman Abbas titled Fresh Food Market. The project is a collection of great photos of food shot from an aerial vantage point. The colors and composition are super sharp and so vivid it makes me hungry just thinking about the imagery. I'm really making a pointed effort to improve my photo skills so will have to try to shoot something edible leveraging this style pretty soon. Two of my great passions in life are traveling and photography. I believe that traveling broadens one’s view of the world. Experiencing other cultures, meeting people from other communities and countries and seeing the beauty, and sometimes ugliness, of the world has helped me understand that all of our lives are at once interconnected and individual. Ayman specializes in creating large format and panoramic images from stitched mosaics of digital frames and scanned slides. Shooting with both 35mm film cameras, using fine-grained color slide film exclusively, and with digital DSLR, and Medium Format with Digital Back 50 MP, for more information about him check out http://aymanabbas.prosite.com/

Coca-Cola 100x100 by Greig Anderson

Coca-Cola is such an iconic brand and their bottle is a trademark. You can see that form and recognize immediately that it's Coca-Cola and of course their marketing team is super smart to explore that. Another great example is the beautiful work that Greig Anderson created for Coca-Cola 100th anniversary. Just check out after the break and you will understand what I am talking about. We were proud to be selected as one of 100 design studios worldwide invited by Coca-Cola to submit a poster design to mark the 100th anniversary of their iconic glass bottle; ‘The Contour’. Taking a classic Coke poster as inspiration, we used the shape of the bottle to create 100 unique ‘bubbles’. These were printed using actual Coca-Cola and the bottom of the famous Contour glass bottle. CCAA Kids - Character Design

CCAA Kids - Character Design

Advertising is all about communication but to achieve that much work is required from a copious array of fields, from basic communication to design, illustration to 3D, and many others. The photo manipulation is the element that always attracted me, especially in terms of giving life to objects and characters that are not real. That's the case of the work that Estudio Icone created for CCCA Kids to help Brazilians learn english. Simple, illustrative, smart and of course top notch in the details and polish. Icone is a studio formed by creative minds: multidisciplinary professionals that carry art in their DNA. Essentially, our job is to produce images. But we want more than that. We seek spontaneous creativity which has no formulas and arises from the talent of each artist, from their visual culture and plurality of backgrounds. Here, each image can present a different solution. But the common goal is to achieve the result that our clients expect. That’s why we’ve completed eight years of partnerships with great brands and advertising agencies by building challenging images with the highest level of technique and refinement. Sand Artwork: Brazil Fashion System

Sand Artwork: Brazil Fashion System

Photoshop is an amazing tool and has changed the way images are created. Sometimes it's very difficult to know if an image was retouched or done in Photoshop. The Brasil Fashion System is a great example. It's really cool and I cannot say if it's real sand artwork or Photoshop however the end result is quite beautiful. Brazil is a singular country. Mixing people, blending cultural aspects and turning everything into inspiration. We are a nation creative by nature. This passion for the new is also what marks our fashion. That passion is what makes our fashion more vibrant, sustainable and rich in diversity. To present it to the world, we invite art and nature to speak on behalf of Brazil Fashion System, an association that unites the Brazilian market fashion under one name, one brand, one strength. In this first institutional campaign, images that represent Brazilian fashion and its pillars are artistic compositions made of colored sand, one striking element of our natural and cultural wealth. The plurality of our people. The energy of our culture. Our natural gift to sustainability. All this is there, represented so refined and delicate in every line, color and shape of images. The Sunday Times - Icons

When I saw this video I was so impressed that I had to post it here on Abduzeedo. Heisenberg, Kraftwerk, and Banksy’s kissing coppers all featured in early scripts, but we wanted to take a snapshot of what’s making the headlines in 2014. Daft Punk winning big at the Grammy's, The final series of Mad Men, and Tarantino are all over the media right now. These people and their work have left an indelible mark and we’ll probably still be talking about them in ten, twenty maybe even a hundred years years time. The TV spot is a respectful nod to it all.
