Outstanding Collection of Superman Artworks

Outstanding Collection of Superman Artworks

After all the buzz around Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel" I think it's time for we pay our tribute for the most commented superhero of 2013 (and probably the most iconic comic hero ever). So here's a beautiful collection of artworks based on Superman by many artists, illustrators and designers out there, hope you appreciate it. Unless you just arrived on earth right now, you probably know it's Superman, anyway let's put here a brief description of it: Superman is a fictional character, a superhero that appears in comic books published by DC Comics, and is widely considered an American cultural icon.[1][2][3][4] Superman was created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster. Superman first appeared in Action Comics #1 (June 1938) and subsequently appeared in various radio serials, television programs, films, newspaper strips, and video games. Superman's appearance is distinctive and iconic. He usually wears a blue costume, red cape, and stylized red-and-yellow "S" shield on his chest.[7][8][9] This shield is used in a myriad of media to symbolize the character (Wikipedia). everyonesname Fikkoro Jackademus paint4you PhantomxLord SaiyaGina Superman8193 Rennee FionaMeng ronsalas The origin story of Superman relates that he was born Kal-El on the planet Krypton, before being rocketed to Earth as an infant by his scientist father Jor-El, moments before Krypton's destruction. Discovered and adopted by a Kansas farmer and his wife, the child is raised as Clark Kent and imbued with a strong moral compass. Very early he started to display superhuman abilities, which upon reaching maturity, he resolved to use for the benefit of humanity. Superman resides and operates in the fictional American city of Metropolis. As Clark Kent, he is a journalist for a Metropolis newspaper called the Daily Planet (Wikipedia). Slashthree World Exhibition III

With the announcement of the Slashthree collective's partnership with DACS in a collaborative live art exhibition aimed at raising awareness and money for victims of child slavery, the collective decided to run an online exhibition alongside it. "World Exhibition III" is a unique project for the collective, as it is the first incrementally-released exhibition in Slashthree's history; the first set of artworks will release on July 2, 2012, and more will release every two weeks until the project is deemed complete. The exhibition aims to allow our artists to work freely and creatively, in a similar fashion to World Exhibitions I and II before it, and we hope it will create fantastic visual and aural experience. AJ Fosik Outstanding Artworks

Is really funny how internet at the same time that brings us some fresh artists, it just don't tell us more about them. AJ Fosink is one this cases, he got just a Myspace account and a Flickr, with no references about his person. The first time I saw his artworks I though they were hyper realistic paintings, however I got quite confused when I discovered it was all about wood, paint and nails. I found his artworks in many art and design related websites, but it was hard to discover who was the original creator of these pieces. You can see some of his works at his Flickr and a interview here.

Amazing Hand Drawn Artworks

Since I was a little kid I have always been drawing all over the place, until I was introduced to Photoshop. Sounds familiar? The digital era and all the digital inspiration tend to keep us away from grabbing a pencil to draw something. That's the reason why I selected Andrey's work to display here today, because they truly inspired me to pick up a pencil myself and attempt to make something good. Try it! My name is Andrey Shch. Sounds like "shcha" and in spoken Russian means an action being performed "now", at present instant. I work in a small but highly gifted collective or, to be more precise, in a group of like-minded people. And this is SHCH graphics group. We create unique things, which look simple on the surface but are ingenious in their essence and thought. We create design filled with emotions and feelings. Muse Catch an interview with Andrey at muse.drewwilson.com/showcase/42/ For more of his work visit flickr.com/photos/shch_andrey and sgr.kiev.ua

Breathtaking 3D Pieces from Olivier Ponsonnet

If you are like me - someone that loves 3d artworks - you will probably love this selection! Olivier Ponsonnet, aka reiv at CGSOCIETY, is a very talented artist who works with 3D Max and creates breath taking pieces to amaze us. I believe you are already familiar with some of his work... and that is exactly why I decided to put this selection together, to make sure you get to know more of Olivier's work. Olivier Ponsonnet's pieces are a mix of realism and imagination, something intriguing and mysterious, full of details and personality. His pieces are really beautiful and eye catching, so take your time to appreciate them. Since the first time I wrote about 3D artworks - 40 Amazing 3D Art Pieces, May/2009 - I got impressed that pieces with such a level of details and perfection were produced by a talented artist and a software. I really wanted to have the talent to transform all my 'imaginary friends' into 3D characters, but I don't. ;) So, enough said, remember to check out Olivier's page at CGSOCIETY and enjoy the selection! I hope you like it as much as I did. :)

Really Cool Artworks for a Great Series: House Md

House Md is for sure one of the greatest series out there, at least I think so! The series show some really nice and intelligent battles between great doctors trying to diagnostic difficult cases. The main character, Gregory House, is controversial, sarcastic, irreverent and polemic, he is actually just brilliant. He acts and talks like many of us would like to do but are not brave enough to do it. The awarded House Md is so well developed that gets our attention in a way that makes us addicted to it! We get anxious to see what will be House's next case and how he will diagnostic it. The whole deal is just very good... House's friendship with Wilson, his eternal unsolved love affair with Cuddy, his great 'who knows more' discussions with also egocentric Dr. Foreman and House's vicodin addiction can guarantee us really good episodes. With all that and lot more, House gained tons of fans out there, fans that like the series so much that they produced some really cool artworks about it. And it was browsing around deviantART that I found some of these fans artworks and decided to show here to you! And don't forget to click at the image to visit the artist's page! And also, in case you have an artwork about the House to share, the comments are open for you! I hope you like it as much as I did! 30 Cool Artworks Surrounding the H1N1 Flu

The swine flu, H1N1 flu or H1N1 influenza has caused some different responses around the world: panic, indifference, doubts, worries and sometimes simply nothing. But for some artists the swine flu became a theme, something new to explore and produce some cool pieces. You will see here lots of different styles of artworks surrounding the H1N1 flu (illustration, photography, graphic and so on), most of them are funny, others more serious, but they are all very cool. This post was suggested by one of our readers, Diogo Glovatski, who sent an art and also mentioned that several people produced artworks about the flu and that we could do a post about it. He was right, we found a lot of pieces about it online and here we will show 30 (31 actually) of those pieces for you. Click at the image to visit the artist's page. And also, in case you have an artwork about the swine flu to share, the comments are open for you! I hope you like it! And take care... watch out for the virus. ;) Our wallpaper of the week #49 Image suggested by Diogo
