Product Design: Mujjo iPhone 7/7Plus Case

Product Design: Mujjo iPhone 7/7Plus Case

We’ve been getting quite some buzz with our articles on iPhone 7, it’s just great to see how brands can come up with new technology at the door. What’s the first or the second thing that most of us think of getting right off the bat after purchasing a new iPhone. Cases! You’re in luck because the kind folks from Mujjo have recently released their latest model cases to fit the newly shiny iPhone 7/7Plus with a new design and crafted from full grain leather. You can get your hands on the model that is designed to hold your cards. Based in Netherlands, Mujjo has been making high quality leather goods from cases all the way to iPad sleeves. Let’s check it out! Mujjo cases come equipped with our highly acclaimed Moulded Edge Technology – introduced with the iPhone 6s case line-up – that is proven to toughen the edges at the phone’s weakest points and enables the case to withstand the wear and tear caused by friction against rough materials, such as jean pockets. Matching Mujjo’s innovativeness, and designed to make your daily life more convenient. The leather card pocket, marked by a slant line and stitched to the back of the case, provides an opening for you to conveniently store your essential cards conveniently in one sleek package.   More information: https://www.mujjo.com.

AUXILIARY Earbuds & Headphone Concept

AUXILIARY Earbuds & Headphone Concept

Between the announcement of the iPhone 7 and the most (not-so) outrageous removal of the headphone jack. I would say that what surprised me the most was the announcement of the new product called: Airpods. In my opinion, It’s not a design for everyone and it comes to a pretty expensive price. With a little search, you can find very affordable wireless headphones out there. That comes to what we would like to feature the work of Mauricio Romano and his AUXILIARY project. What is it? It’s a collaboration exploration with his community of Instagram at creating/making a conceptual headphone with a designed-wear mindset and detachable earbuds just in case you need to replace the broken one. From the sketches and doodles, you’ll get to follow his process from the piece of paper to the final render that he did his earbuds and headphones. Definitely worth checking out. AUXILIARY is a new kind of project for me. It was a design exploration with a small community of followers on Instagram. It was a journey in which we explored new forms and sparked new ideas.   More information: http://mauromano.com/auxiliary.

Grovemade's Maple Speakers

Grovemade's Maple Speakers

A couple days ago, we stumbled across an image while putting together a Daily Design Inspiration for you guys. It pinged our curiosity and after a little research, we discovered it was a new product from Grovemade and it's called the Maple Speakers made entirely of wood and metal components. A collaboration with Joey Roth who is quite a "connaisseur" when it come to speakers. Assembled in Portland, Oregon, the team at Grovemade produced a beautiful product that is authentic in material that will age in a variation of colour and wood grain. Also comes with a sound of a back-loaded horn to reinforce the speaker's bass response. This speaker is a mixture of an experienced craftsmanship with what would come out best of wood. We collaborated with industrial designer Joey Roth to create a speaker system that could only exist with our unique approach to product and his experience in audio design. Usually when I do my audio simulations I have to compromise to make it buildable. But working with the Grovemade guys, the simulations became the final geometry. - Joey Roth   More on the product: https://grovemade.com/product/maple-wood-speakers.

Let's get creative 2016

Let's Get Creative 2016

Since the flat design became a trend it's great to see the evolution of the style but it's also visible that not much has changed besides hard shadows becoming a bit softer. Last year, however, I started noticing more of a mix of swiss style with a bit of the deconstructivist movement we saw in graphic design. The project 'let's get creative 2016' by Studio - JQ is a good example, at least from my point of view. ABDZ has been bringing a bit of that back as well and I foresee more like this in the future. Let's get creative 2016. Creative compositions and self promotion for Studio–JQ expressing the values, work methods and everyday subjects that arise in a usual day in the studio. About Studio - JQ Studio–JQ is lead by Jonathan Quintin – he has created inspirational work at the world’s top design studios for clients including Aon/Manchester United, Auto Trader UK, Bosch, Google, Intel, Mitsubishi Motors, Moscow Raceway, NASCAR, NBC Sports Network, Tommy Hilfiger/Rafa Nadal, Rockstar Energy Drink, The Co-operative and VMware. Identity & Packaging of Salva Craft Beer

The visual identity developed for Salva Craft Beer, a growing artisanal brewery from Brazil, is based on a handcrafted logo that has been gone through manual and digital processes that added dust, scratches and noises to the original art and labels, so each one has an unique visual. Slick Jet Fighter Design by Tim Zarki

Slick Jet Fighter Design by Tim Zarki

Some designers have a really good eye for creating impressive machines. From all kinds of fantastic, imaginative vehicles out there, the ones I enjoy the most are aircrafts. Tim Zarki, a San Francisco based designer came up with the SVF-47 Minerva, a badass high-altitute interceptor. Here you can see some sweet angles of this awesome jet. I wish it was available in some game so that I spend time some sweet time flying around in this beast. For more images and angles of the SVF-47 Minervar, please visit Tim's portfolio at Behance! I hope you enjoy these as much as I did! Cheers! ;)

Custom Badge Designs

Custom Badge Designs

Graphic designer Allan Peters loves vintage designs and started a hunt for vintage badges. This project is inspired by the #badgehunting he started and this is an amazing collection of custom badge designs done by Allan. Check it out! For more from Allan Peters visit Custom Badge Designs. I like to go antiquing. I don't look for vases or old plates, I look for old type, old logos and old packaging. The good stuff. Back before computers. Back when design took time. Back when people cared about doing it right. I find that stuff, take photos and tag it #badgehunting. It turned into a thing. Before you know it I was seeing that hashtag being used by people I've never met. People from all over the world. As the hunt grew, I knew I wanted to do something to show my respect to these people out hunting and sharing. I decided to do what I do best and I made them some custom club badges

Urbanoasis Product Design by Andrea Mangone

Urbanoasis Product Design by Andrea Mangone

I really enjoy seeing projects that bring nature closer to us at some level. Kids these days are all about smartphones, gaming and indoor fun, and there is simply no time spent outside. Thinking about that, Bantum, an American product consulting firm, has asked Italian designer Andrea Mangone to come up with a way to reconnect people with nature. Meet Urbanoasis: By 2050, 6 billion people worldwide will be living in urbanised areas. Urbanoasis wants to reconnect people with nature in the urban environment by making growing vegetables on your balcony a fun, educative and engaging experience. The package includes a pot, dried soil+fertiliser, gardening tools, seeds and a watering can. The pot, with its modern and minimal look, was designed to fit perfectly both on a balcony or indoor. Urbanoasis is fun and it promotes a positive message. The product is an example of eco-sustainability using materials such as bamboo and rice hull fibres composite, cork agglomerate, recycled cardboard and natural wood. For more Urbanoasis information, please visit Andrea's portfolio at Behance. I hope you enjoy this! Cheers. ;)

App Design: Medium for Android

Concept Design: Medium for Android

Medium has grown so big and beautiful in last few months. It it probably most elegant, fast and functional platform to share the amazing stories and ideas with everyone out there. Every day thousands of new voices publish their unique experiences, views, and reflections to Medium.com, creating the largest, most diverse collection of stories on the internet. Medium for Android, is a simple app that lets you read and write the stories that matter most to you. My goal with this project was to imagine Medium for Android by making use of Google’s Material Design language as seen in Android 5.0 Lollipop. The concept is to innovate Medium platform for Android using Material Design, without losing its brand identity. That was my goal, to make the Medium to modernize without losing any functionality and not cause any loss of users. Find out more about the designer Sahil Vhora behance.net/sahilvhora. Web Design: Footer References

Web Design: Footer References

Lately I've been doing a lot of references research and it's cool to see all the different styles of design in many websites. For me, one of the trickiest parts of a website to be designed is the footer. For me it's like the cherry on the top of the cake. Here is a selection I've made of some pretty cool footers. Some might seem simple, others more intricate, and to me this diversity represents footer design these days. If you've seen any cool footers lately, don't forget to share it with us! Cheers. ;) Tens Reuben Crossman mākgoods Maybe.For.You HTO Made by Few Paradox Kittie's Cakes Visual Soldiers Scottie & Russell Windy City Crossfit Designer Trek Skargaarden
