Between the announcement of the iPhone 7 and the most (not-so) outrageous removal of the headphone jack. I would say that what surprised me the most was the announcement of the new product called: Airpods. In my opinion, It’s not a design for everyone and it comes to a pretty expensive price. With a little search, you can find very affordable wireless headphones out there. That comes to what we would like to feature the work of Mauricio Romano and his AUXILIARY project. What is it? It’s a collaboration exploration with his community of Instagram at creating/making a conceptual headphone with a designed-wear mindset and detachable earbuds just in case you need to replace the broken one. From the sketches and doodles, you’ll get to follow his process from the piece of paper to the final render that he did his earbuds and headphones. Definitely worth checking out. A couple days ago, we stumbled across an image while putting together a Daily Design Inspiration for you guys. It pinged our curiosity and after a little research, we discovered it was a new product from Grovemade and it's called the Maple Speakers made entirely of wood and metal components. A collaboration with Joey Roth who is quite a "connaisseur" when it come to speakers. Assembled in Portland, Oregon, the team at Grovemade produced a beautiful product that is authentic in material that will age in a variation of colour and wood grain. Also comes with a sound of a back-loaded horn to reinforce the speaker's bass response. This speaker is a mixture of an experienced craftsmanship with what would come out best of wood. We collaborated with industrial designer Joey Roth to create a speaker system that could only exist with our unique approach to product and his experience in audio design. Usually when I do my audio simulations I have to compromise to make it buildable. Since the flat design became a trend it's great to see the evolution of the style but it's also visible that not much has changed besides hard shadows becoming a bit softer. Last year, however, I started noticing more of a mix of swiss style with a bit of the deconstructivist movement we saw in graphic design. The project 'let's get creative 2016' by Studio - JQ is a good example, at least from my point of view. ABDZ has been bringing a bit of that back as well and I foresee more like this in the future. Legurmê is a gourmet antipasti brand that targets young consumers with busy routines that seek high quality and convenient products. The colors differ the flavors of each antipasti, forming a collection of harmonious labels. Let's take a look at their beautiful branding & packaging design. Designed by Brazilian creative studio IndustriaHED. The name Legurmê is a mix of two words, “Legumes” Portuguese word for Vegetables and “Gourmet”, a cultural ideal associated with the culinary arts, word with the letter “t” mute and "Puro Sabor” that means pure taste or pure flavor.
The visual identity developed for Salva Craft Beer, a growing artisanal brewery from Brazil, is based on a handcrafted logo that has been gone through manual and digital processes that added dust, scratches and noises to the original art and labels, so each one has an unique visual. The beer types harmonizes with the Weekdays, with some mystery reserved for Thursday. This project was done by Rodrigo Brod, Germano H. R., and Vagner Zarpellon.

The Challenge Above the main identity of the Gawatt take-out coffee-shop, we had a task of creating a limited series of souvenir cups. The Solution We came up with an idea of cups with altering emotions. Customers can change the face expression of their cup personage by turning the exterior sleeve.
Some designers have a really good eye for creating impressive machines. From all kinds of fantastic, imaginative vehicles out there, the ones I enjoy the most are aircrafts. Tim Zarki, a San Francisco based designer came up with the SVF-47 Minerva, a badass high-altitute interceptor. Here you can see some sweet angles of this awesome jet. I really enjoy seeing projects that bring nature closer to us at some level. Kids these days are all about smartphones, gaming and indoor fun, and there is simply no time spent outside. Thinking about that, Bantum, an American product consulting firm, has asked Italian designer Andrea Mangone to come up with a way to reconnect people with nature. Meet Urbanoasis: By 2050, 6 billion people worldwide will be living in urbanised areas. Urbanoasis wants to reconnect people with nature in the urban environment by making growing vegetables on your balcony a fun, educative and engaging experience. The package includes a pot, dried soil+fertiliser, gardening tools, seeds and a watering can. The pot, with its modern and minimal look, was designed to fit perfectly both on a balcony or indoor. Urbanoasis is fun and it promotes a positive message. The product is an example of eco-sustainability using materials such as bamboo and rice hull fibres composite, cork agglomerate, recycled cardboard and natural wood. Old St. Pete is a craft line made by St. Petersburg Distillery. Designer Grant Gunderson wanted to capture the spirit of the sunshine city in the 1900's without making it too cheesy because it is still a premium product. Medium for Android, is a simple app that lets you read and write the stories that matter most to you. My goal with this project was to imagine Medium for Android by making use of Google’s Material Design language as seen in Android 5.0 Lollipop. The concept is to innovate Medium platform for Android using Material Design, without losing its brand identity. Lately I've been doing a lot of references research and it's cool to see all the different styles of design in many websites. For me, one of the trickiest parts of a website to be designed is the footer. For me it's like the cherry on the top of the cake. Here is a selection I've made of some pretty cool footers.
